Fair Rules & Policies

PET POLICY
No pets of any kind, including emotional support animals, are permitted on the premises of the Washington County Fairgrounds. The only permitted animals are as follows:

  1. Service animals or service animals authorized in training. Further, per ADA/State Regulations the Washington County Fair may ask for proof of a rabies certificate to be shown at the gates for the safety of our Fairgrounds and show animals, you will not be let in if you cannot produce required documentation. Additionally, the Washington County Fair reserves the right to limit certain areas to a Service Animal if the animal would fundamentally alter the nature of goods, services, programs, or activities provided to the public. For example: if the presence of a Service Animal would be disruptive, causing the displayed animals to behave aggressive or become agitated. While the animal will not be restricted to the entirety of the Fairgrounds, it may be restricted to certain areas (such as the poultry/rabbit barn due to causing the animals in that barn distress).
  2. Animals that have been invited as part of a Fair Sponsored Event, for example, livestock or 4H event where the animals pose as an exhibit to the Fair.
Food/Beverage
Meals and refreshments will be on sale at the Fairgrounds. These concessions are reserved and will be handled by the Fair Committees representatives. All ice used on the fairgrounds must be purchased from the Pomona Kitchen. No coolers may be brought onto the grounds.

Safety
The Fair Committee will exercise care to ensure the safety of exhibits, but will not be responsible for accidents, injuries, losses or damage to yourself or any valuables. Please follow all proper safety protocols that may be listed at different exhibits.

The Washington County Fair has a private security on duty at all times, accompanied with the Richmond Police Department. .


Bags
All patrons are subject to a bag search when entering the Washington County Fairgrounds.

Drones
The Washington County Fair strictly prohibits the use of drones used by anyone to take pictures, recordings, or videos, etc. of the fairgrounds or any exhibits.

Alcohol
Alcohol is strictly prohibited and is NOT allowed on the Fairgrounds. If found to be drinking alcoholic beverages you will be asked to leave the fairgrounds immediately without refund.

Cannabis/Illegal Substances
No cannabis smoking/vaping or illegal substances of any type are strictly prohibited on the fairgrounds. If found to be drinking alcoholic beverages you will be asked to leave the fairgrounds immediately without refund.

Weapons
No weapons of any type are permitted on the fairgrounds, included, but not limited to firearms, knifes, etc.

Other Items Strictly Prohibited
Weapons, controlled substances, glass bottles, skateboards, skates, and bicycles are strictly prohibited on the fairgrounds. If found to be drinking alcoholic beverages you will be asked to leave the fairgrounds immediately without refund.

Attire
The Washington County Fair strongly encourages the use of appropriate clothing. The Washington County Fair has the authority to decide what is appropriate attire for their event including but not limited to, banning costumes, appropriate footwear, no masks, no undergarments, etc. for the safety, security, or maintaining a certain atmosphere.

Soliciting
Distribution of any type of “handbill” or “promotional material” is prohibited on the Fairgrounds or in the parking lot.

Electrical Work
All electrical work performed on fair grounds must be completed by the appointed fair electrician.

Propane Work
All propane work performed on fair grounds must be completed by the appointed propane company.

BEHAVIOR POLICY
The Fair Committee shall reserve the right to refuse anyone admittance to the Fairgrounds or removed anyone from the fairgrounds. Any concessionaire, exhibitor or patron of the Fair that may become disruptive, argumentative, a disturbance, etc. with any volunteer, employee, agent, officer, committee member, other patrons, etc. of the Washington County Fair may be subject to:
1) Short term sanction of one day
2) Permanent expulsion from the fairgrounds for the current event
3) Forfeiture of the right to attend the fair for life: This being the decision of the Fair Committee.

Liability
The exhibitor hereby releases the Washington County Fair from any and all responsibility and liability for injury or damages to any entry or exhibit and also releases and agrees to indemnify the Washington County Fair Committee or any officer, employees, committee members, agents, etc. against any damage, claim, legal proceeding or judgment arises out of an exhibit, entry, or transportation of the Washington County Fair. Further, all patrons, exhibitors, vendor, etc. agrees to hold the Washington County Fair and any committee member, agents, volunteer, employee, etc. working with the Washington County Fair harmless from any claim or suit of injury damage losses etc. that may arise out of any activities associated with the Washington County Fair.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND RECORDING NOTICE
By attending The Washington County Fair, any patron, exhibitor, vendor, etc. consents to use your photograph, recording, voice, or any reproduction thereof, in whole, for any advertising, promotional web casts, news, telecasts, inclusion on marketing material, etc. By entering the event premises, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, or any other purpose by WCF and its affiliates and representatives. You release WCF, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or or sound recordings. By entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any exhibition, streaming, web casting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by WCF or the person or entity designated to do so by WCF. You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event.

The Washington County Fair retains the right to change or alter these rules at any time.
